Partners in Success

An increasing number of businesses are hiring people with disabilities, accessing a skilled labor pool and reaping the benefits of competitive integrated employment. However, some employers may hesitate due to uncertainty or common misconceptions about hiring individuals with disabilities.

In partnership with Pathways to Partnerships, Autism Foundation of Oklahoma presents Partners in Success – a free workshop and support program designed for employers who might be interested in offering workplace tours, job shadowing, training, or employment opportunities to students with disabilities who are transitioning into the workforce.

This interactive workshop:

  • Helps employers understand school/business partnership options
  • Provides information about potential monetary incentives
  • Breaks down common misconceptions about hiring individuals with disabilities
  • Covers the step-by-step process of workplace accommodations
  • Explores the business case and benefits of building partnerships with area schools and agencies

Program features:

  • Training is available in-person or virtually
  • The workshop provides 90 minutes of content, presented in one sitting or in segments to meet business scheduling needs
  • Organizations that complete this workshop receive a complimentary AFO Sensory Kit, which includes thoughtful tools for easing anxiety and increasing communication in high-stress situations for individuals with autism and other disabilities
  • After the workshop, interested employers gain access to additional free training and consultations, ensuring they have the tools to create meaningful and sustainable school-to-work opportunities

There is no obligation. Discover how competitive integrated employment can benefit your organization and your community!
